1. NARUTO
A long time ago, a demon fox with nine tails appeared. When a tail was swung, it would destroy a mountain and cause a tsunami. To counter it, the people gathered ninjas. One ninja sealed the monster in a life or death battle and died. That ninja was known as the Fourth Hokage… and with his death, he sealed the powers of the Nina-Tailed Demon Fox into the body of a young boy…
This young boy’s name is Uzumaki Naruto. Naruto hopes one day he can become Hokage. Most people in the village dislike him and consider him a pest. Naruto causes havoc in order to get attention; he is ignored because people think he is the actual demon fox. After failing the Genin exam, Naruto is tricked into stealing a scroll to become Genin. He ends up in severe danger but Iruka, his teacher, comes to saves him. However, it ends up being Naruto saving Iruka from possible death and for that, he is upgraded to an official ninja where he begins his journey to become Hokage!
2. BLEACH
Ichigo Kurosaki is a 15 year old boy that has the ability to see spirits ever since he can remember. Because of this, he is able to meet a female Shinigami (a.k.a Soul Reaper) named Rukia Kuchiki. In order to save his family and friends from unwanted soul-eating spirits named Hollows, Rukia proceeds to transfering her Shinigami powers to Ichigo. With Rukia’s help Ichigo discovers his true calling: to protect the living and the dead from evil.
3. SHIJOU SAIKYOU NO DESHI KENICHI
Shirahama Kenichi is an average student who has earned the nickname “Weak Legs” from always getting bullied. One day he meets a cute girl named Furinji Miu who helps him build the courage to begin training at a mysterious dojo where she lives. Here Kenichi faces intense training from masters of many different martial arts styles as he attempts to become stronger.
4. SHAMAN KING
Shaman King is about a boy with a shaman power, Yoh Asakura, who wanted to become a king of shaman.
Yoh Asakura might look like a layback Junior High School kid. However, he is a shaman with a special ability to communicate with all the souls and spirits and possess them into his body! Yoh came to Funbari, Tokyo to make friends with all of the powerful ghosts and to become the best Shaman ever.
5. YAKITATE! JA-PAN
There’s French-pan (bread in Japanese), German-pan, and there’s English-pan. Now, get ready for Japan’s very own “Ja-pan”!
Kazuma Azuma isn’t the brightest 16-year-old around, but when it comes to baking bread, he’s a genius gifted with the legendary solar hands, a warm pair of hands that makes dough ferment faster.
It is Azuma’s dream to invent Japan’s very own national bread¡Xbread the Japanese will love as much as their rice. So when he gets offered the chance to work in Pantasia, one of the biggest bread store chain in Tokyo, Azuma immediately sets out from his home town on the road to discovering his dream.
6. DEATH NOTE
Light Yagami is at the head of his class, and he’s bored out of his mind. That all changes when he finds the Death Note, a notebook that allows him to control the equally bored rogue Death God Ryuk; simply by writing down the name of the person he wants dead, Light can kill anyone at will without getting caught. He immediately starts work killing off all the world’s dangerous criminals, but the cops are hot on his trail; after all, he’s a mass murderer! When the enigmatic and seemingly unstoppable detective L goes after Light, the result is a deadly battle of wits!
7. DEVIL MAY CRY
Devil May Cry follows the adventures of the demon hunter, Dante, who himself is half demon and half human. Dante is hired through his own business named “Devil May Cry”. The characters are based off of the popular capcom playstation or xbox 360 4 games.
8. NAGASARETE AIRANTOU
Nagasarete Airantō revolves around Ikuto Tōhōin, the main protagonist, who ran away from home because of a fight with his father. Due to a life-long dream of wanting to board a ship, Ikuto decides to take a vacation on a cruise ship; the ship is suddenly hit by a huge storm, throwing Ikuto overboard. He wakes up the next day to discover he is on an uncharted island populated by girls. Ikuto finds himself to be extremely popular on the island, due to the fact that no other men currently live there. As a result, nearly the entire island starts pressuring Ikuto to become his bride — all except a young girl named Suzu and her extremely old grandmother. Suzu’s grandmother decides that Ikuto will live with Suzu for the time being, but Ikuto initially finds it difficult to adjust, especially with the entire island population after him night and day. Meanwhile, Suzu does her best to protect Ikuto from the masses. However, Ikuto still does not want to stay on the island, and soon after arriving, he attempts to leave by boat, but discovers the island is completely surrounded by whirlpools and tornadoes, eliminating escape by sea or air, thus impossible to leave. With no other choice, Ikuto starts to settle into life on the island.
9. HIKARU NO GO
Shindou Hikaru is a lazy, under-achieving 6th grader until the day he finds an old goban in his grandfather’s storage shed. The goban is haunted by the ghost of the greatest Go player of the Heian era, Fujiwara no Sai, who has spent a thousand years seeking the Hand of God; the Divine Move. Sai’s soul attaches to Shindou’s, so only Shindou can see or hear him, and Sai wants only one thing: to play Go.
Shindou has no interest in Go, but he takes Sai to a go salon to allow him to play. There Shindou and Sai meet Touya Akira, the same age as Shindou and a gifted Go player. Shindou is fascinated by both Touya’s intensity and Sai’s love of the game. Soon he develops his own desire to walk the path of Go and become a great player… and Touya’s rival.
10. YU YU HAKUSHO
Fourteen-year-old Yusuke URAMESHI is every teacher’s nightmare. He does badly in school, skips class a lot, and always argues with his teachers. On top of that, he’s also the undisputed brawler around who is good at nothing but picking fights with rival Kuwabara.
However, Yusuke’s life is forever changed one day when-much to everyone’s surprise-he sacrifices himself to save a young boy from getting hit by a car.
Impressed by Yusuke’s selflessness, Koenma, the 700-year-old ruler of the Spirit World, restores him back to life and appoints him a “Spirit Detective”.
11. HUNTER X HUNTER
Gon was just a boy who lived in a world where one of the most dangerous professions is a hunter. Many people aspire to be hunters but few are able to prevail over the numerous trials and ultimately succeed. During a chance encounter with a mysterious man Gon discovered that his father is one of the most exemplary hunters, with his fame and reputation spreading far and wide. Unfortunately, his father had abandoned him at an early age and his whereabouts remain unknown. The only clue he left behind is a picture and stories about his exploits. Thus begins Gon’s quest to become a Hunter and ultimately, find his father. Along the perilous road he meets Leorio, a slacker with an inclination to medicine, Curapika, who is myterious and aloof, and a young boy of about his age, Killua, a member of an elite assassin family. Together, thay embark to face challenges to realize their shared dream of being a Hunter. What dangers lie ahead in this dangerous and cruel reality in which secrets are protected with lives, and dreams are the pathway to peril?
12. KEKKAISHI
Five hundred years ago, a feudal lord was attacked by demons wanting to retrieve his mysterious inner power, the invincible power that can help them take over the human world. The famous mage, Tokimori Hazama, was called upon, and with his 2 students, managed to save the whole land. But they fell ill, the feudal lord was killed, his power was also buried with him at a site called Karasumori.
In the present day, Yoshimori Sumimura and Tokine Yukimura, heirs of the Hazama clan, became the kekkaishi protecting the land and the power. They use a technique called Kekkai, a form of magical barrier, used to capture and destroy Ayakashi (monsters/demons) that are drawn to this land. Any demons that come near the power will become stronger and therefore Yoshimori and Tokine are to guard the land from intrusion of the Ayakashi.
But some of the demons form a powerful organization to take over that mysterious power. Yoshimori plans to destroy not only the demons, but also to gain the power to completely save the world from being controlled by demons. To do that, he first needs to know what the power actually is, and also strengthen his poor kekkai skills.
